Printed and Painted: Warhol Inspired Pop Art Portraits

Happy New Year! If you're like me, the last two months have been a crazy rush starting with Halloween, zooming with Thanksgiving and turbo jet speeding into Christmas. So it is with open arms that we welcome New Year's. Just like opening a fresh blank notebook, a shiny new year offers us the chance to try new things and improve on what worked well before. With that in mind, I decided to try my hand at a style of artwork totally unlike my usual work and Andy Warhol's work is about as different from my regular work as you can get. I've always loved Warhol's screenprinted celebrity portraits with the wild colors and thought this would be a great way to create some wall art using a favorite photo of Bruce and myself. (A big thank you to my dear friend Dean who brainstormed this project with me months ago!)

Resin Crafts Blog Hop: Bottle Cap Magnets with a Soda Can Twist

Welcome to the Ann Butler Designs / ETI Blog Hop! I'm so excited to be participating in this because I love crafting with resin. It's a wonderful way to get a durable glass-like finish without having to pull out the kiln or soldering iron! I have to confess here - I goofed up my project and neglected to use the lovely Ann Butler Designs stamps and instead used scraps of flattened aluminum soda cans as my inclusions in the magnets. But this project would work just as well with stamped images as long as you seal the paper first with ETI Resin Sealer.
